Hard to say: Without knowing more, but i doubt it, unless the cause for why you needed a fusion in the first place is related to foot function.

A lot: Of fusions at that joint do need orthotics with a morton's extension . Discuss with your dr.

Not necessarily: It depends why you were dispensed the orthotic in the first place. Big toe fusions in and of themselves do not require special orthotics.
