Bumps on tongue: The tongue normally has bumps on the back called papillae. If they appear to be enlarging you should let your dentist examine them to give you peace of mind. More than likely it is nothing, but at least they will be caught early if it is something. Good luck!

Normal tongue : The bumps on the back of your tongue are normal. These structures may swell from time to time possibly due to something you ate or drank. As long as there are no open sores or pain, allow some time for everything to return to normal.

A few things: There are normal bumps on the back of the tongue called taste buds. Sometimes they can become inflamed but this resolves in less than 2 weeks. To be safe, have a dentist or an oral surgeon examine your tongue.
