Common: You should be in psychotherapy and discuss with your psychotherapists other ways to decrease your anxiety. However, combining clonopin and Cymbalta (duloxetine) is very common in the midwest. I see no contraindications to doing this. Although antidepressants are often touted as being able to take care of anxiety, the reality is that the only do this at the most 50% of the time. Therefore about 50% of patients with combined depression and anxiety will require both the anti-depressant and psychotherapy or benzodiazepine type medications to alleviate their anxiety.
