Anxiety: It seems from what you say that you have already been examined and tested. Since we do not have access to your results it will be necessary to wait until they are available. I think you realize this and need some reassurance. If the anxiety is overwhelming a visit to a therapist, close friend, religious figure or intimate family member may be helpful. Wish you best of luck and hope everything ok.

Irregular menstrual : This could be something very simple like fibroids could be anything else too. I recommend you wait for the doctors results. Most of the time bleeding is from not so harmful conditions.

A variety of causes: There are quite a few causes of menstrual irregularities, anything from stress, to anovulatory cycles. It needs to be defined--is there excessive bleeding each of those three periods (menorrhagia), which could be a problem with the lining of the uterus (endometrium)? The diagnostic tests the doctor performed will give the answer. Relax. Call the office and request results asap.

Call your doctor.: It sounds to me that your doctor is trying to finds out what's wrong. I am sure that if there is anything significantly wrong that he would have called you for an appointment to discuss what's wrong face to face. If you are worried, instead of thinking the worse, call his office. Sometimes, not hearing can be a positive thing.
