Allergies?: You could have allergies, a sinus infection, or even an unusual case of acid reflux. Would recommend a trip to your pcp to be evaluated. May need a specialist referral as well if simple approaches not effective. Quit smoking (if you do) as this can make coughing issues worse. Otc sinus and allergy meds may help with cough. You can also try saline sinus rinses to see if this helps too.

Listerine?: Does it help and fix it? See doc for laryngoscopy if no resolution. The doc looks inside and can usually fix it.
