Possible but: Even though you only had minor hives before, one cannot predict with certainty whether a severe reaction may occur the next time. Recent studies have shown that all nsaids cross-react if hives were the issue (not asthma). In general, most sensitive people can tolerate cox-2 type of nsaids which must be prescribed. Before you taking any other nsaids, ask your allergist for a challenge test.

No: This is not correct, and i would not do it at home, if you need to take nsaids , you need to be desensitized under strict protocols and in a medical setting, not in an office setting.
