Need 2 C orth: A mcl tear especially a partial tear needs bracing, rest. A brace that lets u ext fully will put the mcl @ max tightness. A brace that limits ext 2, 30* will allow it 2 heal not under tension. @ 1-2 weeks, i add motion 2 the brace, locked @ 30* 1st then motion flex 30-unlimited. Strengthening can b done @ pt in the brace. @ 4-5 weeks exercise with brace but go 4 rom out of brace &off @ 6. Al [email protected] pt.

MCL tear: There is an extensive exercise protocol for mcl rehab. You should consult with a physical therapist.

A 49-year-old member asked:
How do I know if i tore my MCL on my right knee?

Pain inside of knee: Your mcl runs along the inside of your knee, preventing the knee from buckling in. If you tore it, it would hurt along the course of the ligament, your knee may also feel as if it is giving out. Seeing an orthopaedic surgeon, and possbily getting an MRI would diagnose the injury.
