Depends how long: This can be normal if it is recent after the surgery as the swelling can cause these issues, especially if it was an anterior approach. If you are further out then a month, you could have some nerve damage that could be affecting your swallowing and this should be assessed by your neurosurgeon. If you are coming or aspirating, this can lead to severe complications like pneumonia.
