Gp said my 2 year old has a uri and chest infection (had x-ray) is there anything i can do to make him more comfortable as his cough is really bad.

URI: Sounds like a viral infection. Did your gp provide you with a nebulizer and albuterol for the coughing? We try not to recommend otc cough suppressants for the very young due to side effects. If his cough is due to drainage, you could try some saline drops to the nose and bulb suction. A warm heating pad to the chest could also help as could humidity.

Humidity: Try a humidifier in his room. You may also find some relief with a topical rub (i.e. Vaporub).
