Occipital neuralgia: While i cannot say definitively without more history or physical exam, it sounds like you may have occipital neuralgia. This is where you get pain from your occipital nerve at the base of the bank of your skull. A diagnostic block of this nerve can tell you if that's it and then a treatment can be developed.
