No: Not normal. Have your pediatrician take a look. May indicate a hematological problem (coagulation or platelet dysfunction) or other causes including non-accidental trauma etc.

Maybe,maybe not: A rambunctious kid can get bruises on occasion over the bony prominences of the spine, shins, elbows, etc. These should reflect their activity and come and go over time.Bruises that arise over fleshy areas, unlikely to have pinched tissue between trauma and hard bone, are abnormal and a sigh of inflicted trauma or blood issue.
