Yest: I think one of the most important diagnostic consideration will be excluding pheochromocytoma another tumor responsible for a neuro endocrine response . The other thing that we need not to forget , we need to focus on the horses not on the zebras . We need to check thyroid function , drug use or abuse , medication review etc.

Yes: Your symptoms can be associated with neuroendocrine abnormalities, including pheochromocytoma. 5-hiaa is a great thing to check, but is not the only marker for net.Here are more sophisticated imaging techniques available, but only in certain centers in the us. The large net programs will often be willing to take a look at your records and give an opinion without your having to make a trip.
