How long do i need to wear the neck brace after a cervical disc replacement surgery?

Typically: You were the brace mostly for comfort but instructions vary based on surgery and surgeon. If in doubt call your surgeons office and verify your discharge instructions.

Ask your Surgeon: Typically if you have a total disc replacement, your surgeon wants to encourage motion not limit it. Hence if he/she wants you to wear a collar, it will be for a short time period.

Comfort only: We typically discourage bracing for artificial discs, and encourage, progressive, passive early range of motion, mobilization and low impact cardio exercise. It does vary from surgeon to surgeon.
