Not a problem: The NuvaRing is similar to being on a low-dose birth control pill. There is not an affect on future ability to get pregnant in patients who have been using it for any period of time. It may be that there is something else going on if you are passing clots. This should warrant a workup that should include an ultrasound.

No: Nuvaring is simply the birth control pill packaged differently, and none of these products affect future fertility. Obviously the NuvaRing was not right for you, but that does not mean it is not a perfectly good choice for someone else. It sounds like you have some concerns which you need to discuss with your doctor.
