Won't prevent scar: But it will soften the area and help make it less noticeable. Normal insect bites shouldn't scar unless scratched open if this is a problem too try putting some Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream on and covering with band aid. If you are dark pigmented and have dark scars try fade cream but don't use it close to your eyes.
