Shy child: It sounds like your son needs support and understanding, rather than being called "a little coward." some kids are naturally "shy." our kids look to us for care, and how to deal with new things. If our surroundings are safe and parents keep us secure, we feel more sure as we move forward in the world. If not, we feel afraid. Working with a child psychiatrist or psychologist may help both of you.

He's only 2 years : Old. Give him a break! it's normal for children his age to have some fears, be shy around strangers and take some time to adjust to school. Be patient with him. Show him by being friendly with new people, that it is ok to socialize. Sit with him a bit and play beside him when he is anxious at first at school. Talk to his teachers about how they help kids who have trouble at first in school.
