What causes a stomach to burst?

Trauma.: Only reason for stomach to burst is trauma - penetrating trauma (bullet or knife) or really severe blunt trauma on a full stomach. A really rare cause is high pressure from reactions in the stomach which produce large amounts of gas. Sometimes one can have an ulcer or a cancer or a corrosive ingestion which erodes the lining of the stomach but this would really not be a "burst.

Clean Up Your Mess!!: Did you see that Monty Python movie where the fat guy's stomach bursts?That's one way.Or how about a serious car accident or a good punch in the stomach.Short of 'bursting,'it could develop a perforation from an ulcer, or blow up wide(but not burst; you'd vomit first) from an outlet obstruction due to a mass or swelling or decreased activity due to diabetes,medications,or other medical conditions
