See below.: A complex ovarian cyst is one that its internal contents are not of clear fluid appearance on ultrasound. This may be debris including proteinaceous or hemorrhagic materials, or due to internal septations or nodules in the cyst. Many ovarian cysts, including complex cysts, resolve on their own.
