Depends: Commonly sciatica due to low back issues such as arthritis or disc herniation compressing the sciatic nerve/branches can manifest itself as thigh numbness. Compression of the nerves in the thigh can also lead to similar symptoms. If symptoms persist or you develop any weakness/paralysis in your lower extremities then seek attention immediately in the er and seek an orthopedic spine surgeon.
