A member asked:

Is it normal to have some numbness in the front part of my thigh after having a hysterectomy?

Yes: There is a nerve that traverses through the inside of your body and provides sensation to your inner thigh that can be compressed during hysterectomy. So this numbness is normal, but it should come back with time. If continues to be numb after 2-3 weeks, talk to your doctor. Not typical for it to be cut in surgery, but that can happen, so keep tabs on it and inform your doctor if doesn't return.

Possible nerve injur: It is possible that if you have lost sensation completely on the front of thigh, that a nerve supplying the skin has been injured.
