Is it safe to fly with kidney stones?

If stable: I wouldn't want to be cooped up on a plane while passing a renal stone but if there is a stone that has been happily residing in my kidney for some time there should be no issue with flying.

That's fine.: Meaning it's not that high altitude or pressurized cabins will make kidney stones more likely to pass. However, I don't think you'd want a stone to coincidentally get stuck while trying to pass while you were in an airplane. This would give you tremendous pain and there'd be nothing you could do about it. Chance worth taking?
