Anosmia: Anosmia is the medical term for loss of sense of smell. Although this can be due to allergic inflammation in due to intense congestion in the nose and sinuses, it can also be due to polyps and other conditions that can affect the cribiform plates. You should visit with an allergist to exam your nose and sinuses.
