What are mumps?, what's the treatment, ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Viral infection: Mumps is caused by mump virus. It starts with fever, headache, fatigue, muscle aches, followed by swollen salivary glands that can give the "chipmunk cheeks" appearance. There is no specific treatment. Most common complication is inflammation of testes (orchitis). Mumps is fairly uncommon now because of MMR (measle, mumps, rubella) vaccine.
