Why does tongue papilla get inflammed?

Dry mouth, allergies: Tongue papilla require moistness for proper function. If you suffer from dry mouth, do not drink enough water, or have had an allergic reaction to food, the papillae will enlarge. Make sure to stay hydrated, use a dry mouth mouthwash like biotene twice daily after brushing, and if it persists, see a dentist to make sure it is simply inflammation.
