Can auditory nerves heal ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need specificity: If you have had a diagnosis of hearing loss due to neural degeneration (nerve deafness), then the answer is no. Once the inner ear or nerve of hearing is damaged, it does not return to normal. At age 41 it is unlikely that you have an aging problem. We need more information. For example, did you develop sudden deafness, it is on one side, are you having trouble understanding speech?
