Cerebellar ectopia: New or present since birth? 2mm or > 5 mm? if present since birth -it is Chiari malformation and may through life pose some issues like incoordination, pain, vertigo nystagmus, tracking issues. Sometimes only noted after whiplash. If symptoms some consider surgery. Also occurs after head trauma due to increased intracranial pressure, if acute and high is emergency, f/u/ w/ neurosurgery
