Contact dermatitis: It kind of sounds like a contact dermatitis. As a hand surgeon that's a bit out of my specialty but you might check through your soaps, lotions, perfumes and other detergents. Also do you work at a place where chemicals are used? You might try applying some over the counter Hydrocortisone for a few days to see if that helps. If it doesn't i would recommend eval by a dermatologist. Thanks.

Varies: Multiple potential causes from things like fluid retention, nerve compression, neuropathy. A good medical checkup would probably be a good place to start.
