Not 2 move the joint: U should b sure it is not trapped under adductor, it won't heal. Only an MRI will tell. If in place and not trapped casting is needed 4 5-6 wks, with no motion. Also if fx also, surgical approach is best. Cast @ least 4-5 weeks from date of injury.

Absolutely no.: No, even for minor tears the minimum time to stabilize with cast is 3 weeks. If the tear is bigger and/or has associated avulsion fracture then surgical exploration and repair needs to be carried out along with k-wire fixation and cast. See a hand specialist urgently as the ucl ligament of the thumb is one of the most important ligaments of the hand.
