Depends: Could refer to an old fibrotic scar, a localized area of partial lung non-aeration (discoid atelectasis), thickened septum between the lobes of the lung, and others. Can't really say more without seeing the film. It almost always is an incidental finding.

Usually benign: if linear density then usually means scar or atelectais (loss of volume).
