A 46-year-old member asked:

My doctor prescribed clazol instead plavix (clopidogrel) and aspirin for me; what is the advantage if there is one?

Similar: Plavix (clopidogrel) and clazol both inhibit platelet aggregation. Plavix (clopidogrel) is associated with a slighly higher risk of lowering the platelet count than clazol. However, clazol is usually contraindicated in patients with class 3 or 4 heart failure.

A 43-year-old male asked:

What is the difference btween plavix (clopidogrel) and aspirin in mechanism of effect?

Different drugs: Both of them affect platelet functions by different mechanisms. Aspirin has milder effects and short lived effect on platelets compared to plavix, (clopidogrel) which is much more potent anti-platelet drug.
