how long does it take for antibiotics to work for a skin abscess?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Michael Ein
47 years experience Infectious Disease
See below: The primary treatment of an abscess is drainage. Antibiotics can effect improvement in the surrounding soft tissue infection in 2-4 days but drainage is primary.
