You won't miss it.: You can live fine without your appendix, as it serves no useful purpose in humans. Now there are potential complications of appendectomy that your surgeon should discuss with you, including wound or intra-abdominal infection, bowel injury or obstruction, and, if done laparoscopically, possible conversion to open operation.
