Yes in moderation: Isoniazid can irritate the liver, especially if you are older (more than 50ish). Alcohol can do this too and the results may be additive. It is very important to take all Isoniazid as directed by your doctor. Occasional alcohol should not make a difference. Generally it is routine for your doctor to do blood tests on your liver every 2 or 3 months during the course of your isonizid therapy.

A 24-year-old male asked:

How long after I stop taking inh can I drink alcohol?

Tricky: The drug is going to be out of the system by 3 to 5 days even being pessimistic. BUT: 1) you can develop a psychological queeziness to alcohol that is not from the drug anymore. This can be permanent. 2) you can develop liver injury from either and this makes alcohol a bad idea. so... can't say in your case; generally a week is really pessimistic.
