Due to importance of blood vessel formation in wound healing, it can cause potential complications after surgery. Avastin (bevacizumab) can also increase protein leakage from the kidneys, increase blood pressure, or risk of clots or bleeding. Avastin (bevacizumab) is used in treatment of certain cancers and certain eye conditions. It is an antibody; not chemo.
