Elavil and lexapro (escitalopram): Problems with sodium is the biggest risk. Drops in sodium can cause epileptic activity. This combination although acts on various receptors that can help treatment depression needs to be moitored closely from a cardiac point of view, unexplained malignant fever and serotonin withdrawal syndrome. Accurate patient selection with pharmacogenetics is must.

Lexapro (escitalopram): As prescribed, with Lexapro (escitalopram) in morning & low dose Elavil at bedtime.
