You can: A total shoulder replacement treats the underlying bone problem. It entails that the rotator cuff and musculature around the shoulder are still good. You can still flare up your rotator cuff and in fact the rotator cuff can tear. So the answer is not as easy as yes or no. The pain you had the surgery for should be improved but you can still have soreness from the muscles after surgery.
