Feeling Aortic Pulse: Most likely you are feeling the pulse of the abdominal aorta, (about middle, below ribs & above navel) much easier to feel in slender people because it is behind all the intestines, in front of the vertebra (back bone) & becomes more difficult to feel with increasing fat stored around the organs within the abdomen (called visceral fat).
