Hemoptysis.....: Coughing up blood, called hemoptysis, can occur with acute bronchitis which is the most common etiology. But, malignancy can also cause hemoptysis so, if you cough up blood, you must be evaluated by your doctor to rule out malignancy. If you smoke, your doctor can help with smoking cessation as well.
