Sources...: Sources of coughing blood include mouth, post-nasal drip with blood draining into the back of your mouth and blood in the lung airways. You should be evaluated by your doctor to be sure there is no bleeding and to treat it if there is bleeding. Certain medications can cause abnormal tastes and your doctor can evaluate this as well. If you are smoking, your doctor can help with smoking cessation.

Need more info: What is your idea of "taste of blood", if it is just salty taste, it may be due to mucus. If you see blood in your sputum, or if the cough has persisted for more than two weeks, it would be time to see your doctor.
