Possibilities...: The most common causes of cough include acute bronchitis, usually caused by an infection of the airways, bronchospasm, gerd, post-nasal drip, chronic bronchitis, a form of copd. If you are coughing and passing out, called post-tussive syncope, you need to see your doctor so your cough can be definitively diagnosed and treated. If you smoke, you need to quit asap!
