May not be related: Diabetic nephropathy may or may not be the cause for her relatively mild proteinuria. Even if it is, tight glucose control should help her maintain normal kidney function.

Did a protein to creatinine urine test. Results came back Creatinine Urine-19.8 and Protein, Total, Urine- <4.0 & Protein/Creat Ratio- nothing because urine was to diluted. So can I still have protein in urine because of this diluted specimen?
