Proteinuria: I am sorry to hear about your daughter's proteinuria (p) diabetics get (p) from diabetes as well as other causes. Have her see a pediatric nephrologist to have her urine collected for 24 hours, to assess her kidney function and the amount of her p. Blood will also be taken to see if she has any glomerular disease other than diabetes. P correlates directly to diabetic complications.
