Rectal problems: I have never heard this modality used for these sorts of issues, which mostly can be diagnosed by direct observation and/or palpation.

No: Ultrasound may be used to diagnose a hernia but not hemorrhoids. Fissures, hemorrhoids, and rectal prolapse are generally diagnosed by a thorough physical exam and proctoscopy.

Ultrasound & Hernias: Ultrasound is not the best test for diagnosing hernias. Hernias can be diagnosed with physical exam alone under most circumstances. Ultrasounds also are not used to diagnose anal fissures, hemorrhoids, or prolapse. These can also be easily distinguished from hernias on physical exam alone.
