Maybe: Although many congenital heart defects, including most of the serious ones , are seen on prenatal ultrasound.

It is unlikely: Congenital heart disease is uncommon. A family history of congenital heart disease increases the risk. Most heart defects can be detected by an ultrasound performed early in pregnancy.
