Pelvic and genital pain (feel like zaps/shocks). could it be related to my interstitial cysitis or connective tissue disease? what else could cause it

Yes: Both of these disorders may cause pelvic & genital pain. Other possibilities include endometriosis, chronic pelvic infection, ovarian cysts, fibroids & a myriad of other issues. See your doctor for full evaluation.

Consider other!: Interstitial cystitis is a problem related to the bladder and pain related to changes in the lining of the bladder. Other causes of pain in the pelvic region include problems related to your uterus, ovaries, bowels, and musculo-skeletal issues. Sometimes, the answer comes after consultation with several specialties in order to 'rule out' possible causes. You must be patient with your providers!
