Seriously?: Pain or discomfort can be caused by dental infection. Your question is relative and kind of silly. Go see you dentist and the dentist will treat you and tell you what to expect.

Sometimes: When an infection is present, and an antibiotic is prescribed, it can take hours before the antibiotic begins to 'work'. Depending on the severity of the infection, the amount of antibiotic in your system will make a difference into how long it is before you experience pain relief. Therefore, it will take longer for pain relief the more advanced the infection is. Keep smiling !
