Varies: For most it is simple heartburn, an irritation of the swallowing tube as it enters the stomach. For some it can be chest wall, in the rib cage, or lung linings. In a rare instance, it can reflect irritation in the coverings surrounding the heart. Having a visit to your doc to sort this out would be worthwhile, during regular hours.
