Also 4 anal fissures: In addition to some success of treating esophageal spasm, glycerol trinitrate and Nitroglycerin ointment (rectiv-fda approved use) are often used as second line treatments for mod/severe pain of anal fissures (often very painful with bms). Of course, treatments with bulking agents/fibers/stool softeners, laxative, mineral oil, and sitz baths should go first. If this is what you have.. Good luck...

Topically to skin: helps postoperatively to dilate vasculature in areas of potential poorly vascularized skin flaps I use it (rarely thankfully) in skin rotational flaps, after parotid surgery for skin flaps at times or in post skin cancer recostruction or in postop face lift patients
