Are contacts as good or better than glasses at correcting astigmatism?

Most cases -YES: In most cases your best corrected vision wil be the same as what you see with your glasses. No better / no worse. The only exception might be with gas permeable contacts if you have astigmatism. Some professional baseball players have won major league batting titles wearing gas permeable conact lenses (edgar martinez-seattle mariners).
