A member asked:

4.5 year old diagnosed with mild astigmatism and prescribed glasses. can she outgrow the astigmatism or can the glasses correct it? if so, how long approx will she need to wear glasses for or will she need them for the rest of her life?

Consider astigmatism as if looking through a lens shaped taller than it is wide, a little like a can instead of a perfectly round ball. The irregularity tends to persist. Growth may change it over time, but I would plan for glasses as a possibility.
